InfoComm International, the association representing the commercial audiovisual industry worldwide, is organising two three-day courses titled ‘Project Management for Live Events’ in Hyderabad and Mumbai. Live event professionals are invited to explore field-tested project management principles, from satisfying client needs to working with house crews and multiple vendors.
The first course will take place from May 27 to 29 at HITEX Fair Grounds in Hyderabad, while the Mumbai course will take place from July 14 to 16 at Harman International, Powai.
On how event professionals can benefit from taking the course, Gaurab Majumdar, Regional Director, India & Middle East, InfoComm International said, "All successful live events share a common factor: careful preparation and project management. This involves assessing potential problems and risks as well as managing changes and relationships, which are lessons that many live event professionals learn the hard way. As the event industry in India grows, it’s critically important to rapidly raise the skill level of the talent pool so that the industry will evolve in the right direction. As the leading organization in the industry, InfoComm International is excited to bring our knowledge to India with this dedicated training program 'Project Management for Live Events.’"
The course modules will include understanding stakeholder relationships; performing site surveys; establishing a governance structure; fine-tuning your production schedule; assessing risk; and working with labour groups.
Both courses will be led by T S Gopalakrishnan, an InfoComm International Staff Instructor and AV consultant. An electronics engineer by qualification, Gopalakrishnan has over 20 years of experience in the professional AV industry.

To be held in Hyderabad and Mumbai in May and July, respectively, the 3-day course gives live event professionals a chance to learn more about field-tested project management principles.
