The Inspire Institute of Sports and JSW Sports, in partnership with the Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to host three years of professional squash tournaments in the country. The MoU was signed by N Ramachandran, Patron of SRFI, and Parth Jindal, Founder & Director of Inspire Institute of Sport and JSW Sports, during the JSW Indian Open, India’s first PSA Squash Copper tournament, which featured an outdoor glass court.

The JSW Indian Open in Mumbai, which concluded on March 28 with Anahat Singh winning the women’s title, marks an important step forward for squash in India.

Over the next three years, three PSA Squash Copper tournaments will take place in India, with Mumbai, New Delhi, and Chennai expected to be host cities. Additionally, the partnership will bring top international high-performance coaches to train Indian players. With six Indian players currently ranked in the world’s top 100, this initiative aims to strengthen the country’s squash program as it prepares for major global competitions, including the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics.

Parth Jindal, Founder & Director of Inspire Institute of Sport and JSW Sports said, “We at JSW Sports are whole-heartedly standing in support of squash as we march on towards the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2028. The idea is to bring high-quality squash to the country as Indian players prepare for the ultimate dream. And we are delighted to be joining hands with the Squash Rackets Federation of India, who have been extremely warm and welcoming about this journey.”

“We are delighted to be partnering with JSW Sports, they have been one of the pioneers in terms of working towards a robust sporting ecosystem in the country. The aim of this initiative is solely to give our Indian squash players a good platform to participate in as they keep one eye on the Olympics. The Squash Rackets Federation of India is very excited for what’s in store in the next few years. May this lay the foundations for an Olympic medal in squash for India,” said N Ramachandran, Patron, SRFI.
