The sixth News Television Awards celebrates the best in news business

The sixth edition of the News Television (NT) Awards 2013 celebrated the best in news business on March 25 at New Delhi's Taj Palace Hotel. The awards ceremony was organized by Indiantelevision.com as a part of the end of the sixth Indian News Television Summit.
The event, which was presented by LR Active Oil along with the support of other industry partners, was attended by representative of TV news channels reporting in Marathi, Hindi, English and Telugu. It saw Cyrus Broacha and Kavita Kaushik as the event anchors and presented 116 awards in various categories.
Some of the categories included awarding the best in crime shows, sports shows, technology, documentaries with limited episodes, TV news presenter, TV news anchor, investigative feature, investigative news report, entertainment news show etc. There were also special awards for Contribution to News Television, Innovation and Leadership in App Development, Most Extensive Social Media TV News Brand, Best News Channel Website, and for News Cinematographer.
The Chief Guest for the evening was Information and Broadcasting Minister of State (independent charge) Manish Tewari, who presented a number of awards to the winners and congratulated them on their success. Along with him, awards were given out by other dignitaries from the areas of politics, sport, society and culture.
Commenting on the event, Anil Wanvari, CEO and Founder, Indiantelevision.com said: "We received more than 1000 entries from various news channels and had lots of help from those in public life and from journalists in Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad to short list the winners. Ernst and Young helped us in tabulating the peer judging process. The awards are growing in strength and I thank the industry for all the support it has been giving our initiative."
