The wedding of Siddhant Shirodkar and Maalavika Manoj was an event carefully planned to reflect their backgrounds, passions, and cultural traditions. Held in Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort & Spa, Mahabalipuram, the celebration combined South Indian and Maharashtrian customs with a focus on music, art, and personal touches that made the event meaningful for the couple and their guests.

Siddhant, a composer, and Maalavika (Mali), a singer-songwriter, both work in India’s music industry and wanted their wedding to incorporate elements of their shared love for music and culture. The couple enlisted Tamarind Global, an event planning firm, to help them organize the event, focusing on creating a balanced and enjoyable experience.

The wedding took place over several days, with various events that reflected the couple’s interests and cultural traditions. The celebrations began with a pool party featuring performances by Yohann Jamsandekar (Spacejams), Allwyn Jeyapaul (percussion), and James Miranda (trumpet). The evening also included a surprise dance by the bride’s parents and a concert by Paris Select.

The next day, the couple held a traditional Kerala-style feast, the Elai Sappadu, where guests wore veshti attire and enjoyed authentic Malayali dishes. Siddhant’s baraat was marked by an unconventional playlist, while Maalavika’s entrance featured her performance of “You’ll Be in My Heart” by Phil Collins. The ceremony took place under a mandap, decorated with flowers and greenery, offering a simple yet elegant setting.

The couple’s personal touches were reflected in thoughtful details throughout the event. A lighthearted “Shi-Man” wedding shooter, combining their names, added an element of fun, while wellness hampers curated by MyMuse were given to guests as a practical and considerate gesture.

The success of the event was made possible by the coordinated efforts of various vendors. Reels and Frames captured the day's moments, while Floralhut handled production, and Black Tulip Flowers – India managed the floral arrangements. Zaid Abdul Salam and Aesthetic Design Studio oversaw the décor, ensuring that everything aligned with the couple's preferences.

Looking back on the event, Siddhant and Maalavika were pleased with how everything came together, and the wedding felt true to their personalities and values.

Anjali Tolani, VP of Celebrations at Tamarind Global, noted, "We craft weddings that reflect each couple’s unique journey. Siddhant and Maalavika’s celebration was the perfect blend of culture, creativity, and love."
