The Amir Morani Fireworks (AMFW) team from India made history by winning the championship at Blackpool's annual World Fireworks competition, marking India's debut in the UK with a dazzling display. Their performance was the opening act of three spectacular shows hosted on the Tower Festival Headland throughout September and October.

Designed by Azan Morani, a renowned expert who has orchestrated some of the world's most massive and intricate pyrotechnic spectacles, the award-winning presentation garnered acclaim for its innovative use of fireworks and its eclectic music choices, which even incorporated a touch of Bollywood.

Scoring higher than the subsequent performances by Switzerland and Italy, the judges characterized the Indian presentation as ‘captivating’, particularly highlighting its breathtaking grand finale.

A spokesperson from AMFW expressed their overwhelming joy and deep sense of honor for creating history with the first-ever Indian pyrotechnics showcase in the UK, culminating in their triumphant victory in the competition.

The World Fireworks Championship in Blackpool stands as one of the most spectacular events in the resort. These synchronized pyrotechnic displays, set to music, are launched from the beach right in front of The Blackpool Tower. It's estimated that each of this year's free events drew a crowd of over 50,000 attendees.

Cllr Lynn Williams, Leader of Blackpool Council and one of the judges, said, “This year has seen a magnificent competition. India set a very high bar when they performed in Week One and although the displays by Switzerland and then Italy were fantastic, we felt India just had the edge. The weather for the final display by Italy this last weekend was challenging, but we are delighted that so many families braved it to come along and watch an amazing end to this year’s competition and also get a first look at some of the incredible installations in this year’s Lightpool Festival.”
