Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board rolls out, financial incentive of INR 5 lakh per tour operator

Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board announced a marketing support scheme for the tour operators. A financial incentive of up to INR 5 lakh will be given to each tour operator booking/ bringing in international tourists for the upcoming International Yoga Festival 2023 to be held at Rishikesh from March 1 to March 7, 2023.

This scheme is intended to provide benefits to the tour operators accredited by Indian Association of Tour Operators, Ministry of Tourism and Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board. Under the scheme, the state tourism board has rolled out an incentive starting from INR 10,000 per international tourist, up to a maximum of INR 5 lakh.

Ravi Gosain, Vice President, IATO said, “This scheme is a great step taken by Uttarakhand Tourism and will motivate the tour operators to promote and invite the maximum number of foreign tourists. This will help in making the International Yoga Festival a reverberating success.”

Sunil Singh Rana, Chairman, IATO Uttarakhand Chapter said, “International arrivals at any destination help enhance the brand image. The announcement of this incentive scheme is a great start to attracting foreign tourists with our very popular International Yoga Festival. This scheme will encourage the tour operators to market this event in their respective markets. As Yoga has been famous all over the world and Rishikesh is considered the Yoga capital, it will be convenient to start marketing Uttarakhand internationally through this Yoga festival.”

This incentive will be offered to tour operators for bringing international tourists to the festival as well as to increase the destination's popularity among overseas markets.
