In an exclusive interview with EVENTFAQS Media, Rachana Lucknowala, Director, House of VIVAAH shares insights about wedding industry post covid, economic downturn, future trends and more.

How does post covid wedding industry avenges?

Covid was a tough time for the entire industry. Post covid as well people were scared to do big gatherings, big celebrations so it took time for the business to take off but things did get better as everyone saw all the precautions we were taking. Like how we took care of small details from sanitization to wearing PEP kits, we did it all for ours and our clients safety.

Has the economic downturn affected the businesses of the industry?

It has definitely affected every industry including ours. It has been extremely challenging as economic downturn affects people's lives in many ways: through higher unemployment, reduced economic activity, reductions in income and wealth, and greater uncertainty about future jobs and income.

The wedding decor industry is very dynamic and thrives on innovation. How do you keep the enthusiasm and inventiveness alive?

Decor is something I enjoy doing so being enthusiastic or keeping the inventiveness alive is not really a challenge. We have a talented team off in house designers’ people who are really passionate about what they do. It's the team effort which really keeps enthusiasm and inventiveness alive.

What are some wedding and event trends to look out for in 2022?

Hosting a picturesque daytime wedding. The refreshing ambiance and decor possibilities and picture-worthy golden hour moments are making day weddings very popular. While decor ideas are dime-a-dozen, one just can’t beat the simple yet beautiful glamour of fairytale lighting to add that undeniable magic to your festivities. Perfect for all sorts of weddings, they effortlessly add a romantic, illusory touch to any decor setting, and can be used in a million different ways to make your wedding memorable. From illuminated installations, decor corners or mandaps to periphery tree lights, dreamy entryways and more, you can use their versatility to suit your theme or venue. After months of at-home weddings and staycation honeymoons, the easing of travel restrictions in most countries have been great news for people the world over, most of all couples as they can now plan their dream celebration/ honeymoon at their favourite destinations.

Which is the one wedding decor trend that is your favourite and matches your style?

All decor trends are unique in their own way but illuminated garden in pantone shade, very peri has been one of my favourite. It displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expression. The entire garden was created using Neon Lights and Neon Butterflies making everything bling.
