Eventz Genie to Facilitate Safety Objectives Through Ratings and Tools Built Around Smart Data

Enjin Experiences, the parent company of the EventZ Genie are a group of industry professionals who combine tech and data analytics tools with practices to create a framework for ‘Safe Events’. Enjin Experiences was one of 150 shortlisted startups' from across India chosen for participation in the recently concluded virtual exhibition under the flagship India innovation week programme, as well as a participant in the industry session for promising start-ups that followed with Hon PM of India Shri Narendra Modi Ji on 16 January 2022.

Enjin is a DPIIT accredited startup that follows ISO audited processes and is the first Indian member partner to the Global Crowd Management Association as well as the Event Safety Alliance (re-emerge ready programme). Eventz Genie rolls out with provisionally patented and copyrighted tools developed in collaboration with and under the mentorship of the Indian Institute of Information Technology - Kottayam. The company is also mentored by Dr Raman Gangakhedkar. 

In conversation with EVENTFAQS Media, Vijay Cavale, Co-founder and CEO, Eventz Genie shares insights on validating COVID safety protocols at live events and venues, Eventz Genie expertise and services, recent technologies, re-emerge ready solution, future plans and more.

What sets Eventz Genie apart in the area of providing a digital platform to validate COVID safety protocols at live events and venues?

We have developed a range of unique technology-enabled and data analytics powered tools that provide metrics and calibrations for the safe reopening of live in-person industry in today’s new normal. Eventz Genie Safe event pass is also officially integrated into the brilliant COWIN API that accesses authentic vaccination certificates of individuals to facilitate a safe entry process. The Pandemic has destroyed lives and livelihoods and this product suite can greatly help reduce industry uncertainty and promote business continuity. Who knows when this pandemic ends and given that pandemics have become multi-generational cyclical plays, who truly knows when the next one rolls along ... we will be ready!      

Who is the EventZ Genie ‘re-emerge ready’ solution for (TG's)? 

The dashboard tools are free to view and deliver metrics at various levels -  as a ready reckoner to Nodal agencies including municipal bodies as to whether the district is safe for reopening and at what capacity and format levels, a brand/ corporate could also use these as guidelines to planning future live in-person events, The Safe Venue rating tool would help both the largely MSME venue owners and operators class as well as event planners and wedding planners to have a degree of certainty in their businesses vide suitable and safe venues and finally, the event genie safe event entry pass would lower risk amongst all event attendees as well as organizers and participants.

So, are these going to be expensive tools to deploy from a use case perspective?

In the long run, Enjin is answerable to shareholders and investors however we are also from this industry and of this industry which has witnessed massive drawdowns in revenues and where those very folks that bought entertainment into your lives are now in many cases unemployed or at very reduced salary levels. This is what 3 waves and 2 years has done to us and who knows what's next and for how long...   Eventz Genie has a social objective and this phase of our journey as a company is modelled as a social re-engineering transformative project. Our dashboard tools are free for life (DSR and the basic SAVE rating tool are totally free of charge). We are relying on self-regulatory mechanisms and hope to be powered by the collective social conscience of industry and stakeholders.  There will be a paid-for (audit version) of the SAVE tool but that is for large/ complex venues and is envisaged as an at-cost service offering.  The safe entry pass for live events would be a B2B solution model (event attendee does not pay) and in keeping with the Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav /India @ 75 theme we are keeping this as free of cost service offering to all Event Agencies / Events below 1000 people for the first 75 days and after that also it would be very economical and affordable.   

What are comparable similar use cases globally?

So right through 2021 from when Israel rolled a covid green pass in April 2021 and thereafter in the last quarter of CY 22 New York city rolled out the excelsior pass system (built by IBM) now most European countries -Germany, France, England and Wales, Italy, Austria, Spain, Portugal to name a few use cases vide the covid green pass and a few European countries also mandated the covid passport solution for travel. Some of these use cases are mandated by law and some are as guidelines with a collective social conscience as a sort of risk mitigation metric in the new normal times we find ourselves in. In India, Maharashtra had rolled out Universal access pass. However, all these solutions are basically just vaccination status type documents/ certificates and not specifically purposed to the live events and experiences ecosystem. ie - just because I have a document that says I am vaccinated does not mean that large social events/gatherings can / should happen in that area, at that venue or for that participant/ attendee ... Eventz Genie is that unified dashboard enabled internet native solution that seeks to mitigate risk across the ecosystem - Is the city safe for events and at what capacity, is the venue/establishment safe, is the staff/performers/ talent safe and finally is the event attendee safe...

How do you define societal collective conscience and why is this important?

Ans - look – things like wearing a mask and wearing it correctly... and when you don’t do that then your passenger on the bus or train points it out and you don’t get offended and correct yourself then that is an example of individual conscience at play in social settings… when industry and leaders follow guidelines and cause their organizations/ venues and establishments to adhere to best practises on a self-regulatory framework then that becomes community level societal conscience and when our leaders adopt and implement measures for the population like distributing free vaccines , providing free/subsidized healthcare, implementing communication and information dissemination services then that becomes National collective conscience  and when these 3 things happen then that country has won its war against this pandemic... finally when world leaders do the right thing ( equitable distribution of vaccines/ cures ) then this Pandemic ends globally and that would have happened as a positive outcome from a evolved global conscience level. So - all these are very relevant and important to the ‘new normal'. 

Please elaborate on a few projects taken up by Eventz Genie recently and how you extended your expertise to achieve the clients' requirements.

We have just gone live with SAVE (safe events and venues rating certification) this week and EventZ Genie Safe event pass will be rolled out later this month and these will be Industry-wide initiatives. These solutions are not restricted just to live events and can be repurposed very easily for any location/ venue where folks gather like schools, restaurants, companies, factories, markets, even the local Sunday mass/ prayer service and other religious places of worship! We are speaking with Industry associations like CII, FICCI, EEMA, NRAI and others to drive visibility, adoption and usage metrics     

How do you manage to set up events with real-time health and safety guides? What are the other services that Eventz Genie provides to event professionals?

Cowin app is an amazing example of world-class Indian digital product/ service and we are truly indebted as a nation to the National Digital health Mission for according integrating API facilitation to our solution with the Cowin API and along with our specially purposed tools we are ready for the " new normal " and whatever comes next.      

Tell us about your recent investments in the latest technology. What new technologies are being talked about in the market?

 Data And Data analytics is the key ... it's no longer about data but smart data...data and analytics can deliver amazing solutions for the Live in-person contact industry...  The positive spin-off with this pandemic is that now everyone ... just about everyone in the world is focussed on safety and health ...extensions to these themes will happen, it will gravitate towards safety in large gatherings and at social occasions, much beyond just health parameters and Eventz Genie will purpose itself to deliver and facilitate these safety objectives through ratings and tools built around smart data.

Tell us about your future plans, and whether you are exploring any expansion areas, alternative revenue streams, etc. 

Whatever we do will be in the arena of facilitating safe, exciting and rewarding live in-person/avatar experiences. We have forward-looking plans and it is an exciting space to be in and will share much more as we go along.
