PVR Expands Vaccination Drive to Cover 5 Lakh FWICE Members

Film exhibition company PVR has expanded its Covid19 relief work to offer free vaccinations for 5 lakh film workers registered with the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and their dependents.
The first vaccination camp for FWICE members was organised at PVR Cinemas, Dynamix Mall, Juhu, Mumbai over 19 and 20 July 2021. The camp might be extended depending on the response.
With this initiative, PVR endeavors to vaccinate stakeholders including artistes, spot-boys, light-men, setting workers, junior artistes, make-up artists, stuntmen and background dancers.
The initiative falls under the gamut of the PVR Care programme that covers enhanced safety measures and procedures of customers, employees and other stakeholders of the film industry.
Ajay Bijli, Chairman and Managing Director, PVR, said, “We appreciate the government's effort for nationwide vaccination drive and we are extending our resources and playing our part to vaccinate the marginalised sections of the film industry. Vaccination is the key for the industry to bounce back and the film fraternity at large. We are all in this together and we want to become the evangelists for the film industry workers and protect their lives. Expanding the drive with free vaccination to the daily wage workers of FWICE is a step in that direction.”
Those eligible can walk in and register for a free vaccination. On-ground assistance for logistics, manpower support and queue management will be provided by the PVR operation staff while medical support including registration of workers on the Co-win portal and the vaccination is being organised by the Nanavati Max Super Speciality staff.
PVR intends to hold similar vaccination camps for entertainment industry members, partners and retail colleagues. This initiative will be expanded across cinema properties in the coming months, informed an official statement.
