Time to Celebrate Re-opening of Events, Says Roshan Abbas at EEMA’s ‘Rendezvous’ at Pullman, Delhi

The Event and Entertainment Management Association (EEMA), the apex body for event managers in India, hosted an on-ground event ‘Rendezvous – Rejuvenate, Revive and Rejoice’on January 22, 2021, even as the events industry rebuilds itself for a potential come-back to the world of physical events. The event,meant for members of EEMA’s North Zone, was held at Pullman Hotel, New Delhi, Aerocity.

Open to all EEMA members,the event began with a welcome address by the emcees Aditya Malik and Bhavita. Prerana Saxena, VP, EEMA North, initiated the first session of the evening, ‘Hum Tum’. She greeted all new members of EEMA and gave an insight into the unified body of events. Then, Ruchin Kohli, Committee Member 1, EEMA North spoke about the current and future initiatives of the North team and how they are being planned to help the body grow.

Siddhartha Chaturvedi, General Secretary, EEMA and Major KJS Gurna, Treasurer, EEMA briefed the members on the upcoming national initiatives. A panel discussion titled ‘The Silver Lining’ had panelists Sanjoy Roy, Rajeev Jain and Sanjeev Pasricha and it was moderated by Samit Garg, Executive Vice President, EEMA. The discussion focused on delivering fresh and insightful experiences of the new normal. Members of the audience also came forward and shared their thoughts with the attendees.

The evening concluded with a gig by Money Aujla of ‘London waliye’ and Snapchat fame, when the entire crowd enjoyed the party.

Roshan Abbas, President, EEMA, shared his appreciation of the team and said, “2020 has been majorly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, it's time to celebrate re-opening of events. With this event, we are moving towards the revival of the event universe. The vaccine is also coming into action and we look forward to the event sphere merging into the new normal.”

He added, “I thank the entire North team for planning and executing this event to the best of their abilities and making the first physical EEMA event of 2021 a super successful one.”

Prerana Saxena, VP, EEMA North, said, “Keeping in mind the overall scenario and moving forward with vibes of Revival, EEMA North team organized this event with an aim to celebrate the ray of hope the industry had been waiting to see. We are overwhelmed to see the enthusiasm and excitement with which everyone came forward and participated in the event.”

Ruchin Kohli said, “We aimed to begin 2021 with hope and sheer determination; and with this event, we proudly did it. The ecstatic celebrations and a physical meeting with our members has and will help in creating a strong bond amongst everyone in EEMA. We now look forward to some great outcomes and more fruitful opportunities ahead.”

Jagmohan Singh, Committee Member 2, EEMA North added, “It really feels great as we come back once again to the physical events space. Strong participation and presence of major stalwarts of the industry has made this all the more successful. We now look forward to finally beginning 2021 on a happy and positive note. Cheers to 2021!”
