Television news company News18 Network and edu-tech major Byju’s have announced the launch of a new show - ‘Young Genius’ - on January 16, 2021. Music composers Salim-Sulaiman have created an anthem ‘Umar Choti, Kaam Bade’ to mark the launch of the show. Written by Shraddha Pandit and sung by Salim Merchant, the anthem is being released on TV, Digital and Radio. It has been produced by Story Yarn Films, and is a tribute to child prodigies, celebrating the creativity and innovation in every child.
‘Young Genius’ aims to showcase, recognize and inspire young geniuses in different fields across the country. The final selected young geniuses will be featured in an 11-part weekly TV show. Each episode will feature child prodigies from across different fields such as academics, performing arts, technology, and sports. These children will be selected through a robust process involving an eminent jury headed by Amitabh Kant, CEO, Niti Aayog; Padma Bhushan Dr Mallika Sarabhai; Sardar Singh, former Indian hockey captain and Shereen Bhan, Managing Editor, CNBC-TV18. Leander Paes, Dutee Chand, Shankar Mahadevan, Rajkumar Rao, PV Sindhu, Sonu Sood, Soha Ali Khan and Virender Sehwag are a few among many who will be seen in the episodes cheering these children.

The show will be aired on 18 channels of News18 Network every Saturday evening starting January 16, 2021, with repeat telecast on Sunday.
