EEMA East Curates ‘Shakti-Ek-Ehsas’; Empowers 50 Industry Stakeholders with Self Defence Techniques

EEMA East Shakti-Ek-Ehsas

The Women & Youth Empowerment team of EEMA East curated and executed the Shakti-Ek-Ehsas event at Novotel, Rajarhat on September 17, 2020. This workshop was organised to empower 50 industry stakeholders with self-defence techniques by professionals from Bodyline-Inspiring fitness.



Along with self-defence workshop, the event also had motivational speeches by ACP Sambiti Charaborty, Bidhannagar, Bollywood singer Akriti Kakar and national Karate champion Ryena Gupta.



Speaking about the event, Aparajita Chowdhury, Women & Youth Empowerment, EEMA East said, “This is the Day of Shakti, so what better way can there be to initiate a journey of empowering ourselves with safety techniques which can help us to help ourselves come out of a situation we would otherwise not know what do with, as we all work at odd times and travel to various places alone.”

“EEMA has been constantly trying to keep the spirits of all involved high in this industry during these testing times, with the detailed SOP in place This is the second EEMA East on-ground project which works as an example that YES we are ready to start safe events, all we need to do is follow the SOP rules and guidelines by the Government,” Chowdhury added.



The workshop combined a showcase of techniques by trainers and Ryena. They demonstrated techniques and basic manoeuvres which one could use to escape/protect oneself in a dangerous situation.



EEMA members have agreed to follow all the rules and regulations applicable for the new normal. The venue was sanitised pre and post-event, other basics like temperature check, oxygen level check were done and taken note of. Even microphones were sanitised before handing it over to the next person, pens at registration zone were sanitised once used, stated EEMA East officials.
