Pilcrow, an events and experiential marketing company founded in November 2011 by Ratika van Noord Bhatnagar and Rohini Mathur, rebranded itself as a sustainable event management and experiential marketing agency in June 2020. After a brief sabbatical, Pilcrow re-launches in the market with a special purpose-driven agenda and commitment to sustainability.
Pilcrow will function through a four-pronged approach: i) Create IP events using and promoting sustainable practices ii) Suggest alternative options to clients, while executing events or activations iii) Ensure reduction in post-event waste to landfill through proper recycling or re-purposing methods and iv) Share learnings and spread awareness in the community about services and solutions that exist to make the industry more sustainable.

“At Pilcrow, we have always been socially and environmentally conscious. We had been speaking about segregation and reduction of waste through our IP for children ‘Kids Culinaire’. We have always avoided single-use plastic, and instead used compostable bowls for food catering, and we always ensure that we leave behind a clean venue. Our efforts are of course very small and not even a ripple on the work that needs to be done in protecting our planet and people. Added to that, sourcing for sustainable alternatives in India is not easy, and post-event wastage is terrible. But we hope that this trend is slowly changing,” said Rohini Mathur, Lead - Events and Activations, Pilcrow.
