A number of jurisdictions and bodies around the world have chalked plans and issued guidelines for reopening of live events post the Covid19 lockdown.

Not to be left behind, the Event and Entertainment Management Association (EEMA) constituted a COVID Task Force that has been tasked with creating SOPs for various kinds of events and experiential activities in India, when live on-ground events resume.

The guidelines will be announced at a webinar next week, informed Siddhartha Chaturvedi, NEC - General Secretary, EEMA, who is heading the Task Force comprised of 15 subject matter experts.

Chaturvedi said, “We will be submitting these sets of SOPs to the government which will be further launched at a webinar held next week. We will be starting off with a 360-degree marketing campaign to let everyone know that we are event-ready.”

"While we are deliberating on Sporting SOPs, the respective sports bodies are working towards it and will add to the list once it is ready," he added.

EEMA will unveil SOPs for:

  • Corporate Events
  • Weddings

  • Religious Events
  • Festivals and Concerts
  • Urban Activations (like in Malls and Schools) and
  • Rural activations.
