A 50th Birthday Celebration in Split, Croatia by Tamarind Global

Tamarind Global Weddings planned and executed a fabulous 50th birthday party in Split, Croatia from 20th to 22nd September 2018. It was a three-day grand affair at the Le Meridien Lav with a non-stop party vibe. The guests were welcomed at both the airports and transferred to the venue seamlessly.

The welcome lunch was hosted at the Ghooster beach club. The décor was soft and elegant with peach, yellow florals, and greens. A massive wooden boat installation was placed with giveaways like fedoras, flip-flops, hats, sunglasses, anklets, hair-ties and more. Local tattoo artists, hair braiding artists, salsa dancers added to a perfect ambience created by DJ Ganesh’s rocking music. 

As the sun set by the beach, the Hemingway Bar was all set to take the guests back to the 70’s as it was decorated in a Retro Glam Theme. As the local Disco Inferno band took to the stage, hula hoop artists entertained. Polaroid stalls set against the silver tinsel, disco balls, colourful shimmer table clothes, old records, a sheesha lounge; the birthday girl’s entry in a Volkswagen Beetle driven by her husband, all made up for a perfect evening. A surprise flash mob by the friends added to the high energy at the venue as guests were handed interesting giveaways like fake moustaches, LED tambourines, retro wigs, fake glitter mics and more. DJ Ganesh kept the guests on their feet till the wee hours.

The next day was an elegant white and pearl themed lunch at 7 Palms. White human statues, flower artists and tiaras welcomed the guests. The venue was decorated with graceful white drapes with shells and pearls. Flower artists customizing hair and hand accessories for guests, special shell centerpieces customized from India were brought in. Giveaways included hats, anklets, sunglasses, and white tiaras. The major elements of the décor were big vases filled with pearls and shells. Paris House Addict and Antonis Dominos entertained the guests and made up for a truly infectious sundowner.

The finale dinner was nothing short of a glamorous red carpet. The Mistral Bar was an open deck where a transparent marque of 20 x 25 meters with side openings were built. The venue was kept as elegant with white décor and mood changing lights every 30-40 mins.

A surprise had been planned by the family along the lines of the TV show Dynasty was a gold cake accompanied by 4 men in gold with champagne sparklers was brought out in true fanfare.

The giveaway was a Baccarat Butterfly which was a representation of the birthday girl’s love for travelling from one place to another and her infectious, vibrant energy. Tamarind Global planned and handled the turnkey management along with hospitality and logistics. It was truly a grand celebration along the pristine beaches of Split, Croatia making for a perfect backdrop for one, long, never-ending party.
