The Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018, to be held at Kalinga Stadium, Odisha starting from November 28 and will go on till December 16th. The Championship is being organised by Hockey India and is one of the most awaited events of this year. The Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018 is the 14th edition of the Hockey Men’s World Cup. Odisha Government and Hockey India have roped in Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman to compose the official Anthem which also features Shah Rukh Khan.

World Cup trophy replicas have been established at six locations in the city of Bhubaneswar. Two replicas have been placed at Bhawani Shopping Mall and Esplanade. For the enthusiastic players and students, one trophy has been placed at the sports complex of KIIT University, while the sixth one is at OCC building.

A state-wide tour of the World Cup trophy is also being conducted across all districts and blocks. To promote the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018 a digital and on the ground campaign has also been launched named 'Heartbeats for Hockey'. The installation of ‘Heartbeats for Hockey’ consists a specially designed hockey stick, each time anyone holds the customized stick it will record their heartbeats as a pledge to support hockey. The campaign was launched by unveiling the digital campaign starring the National Hockey Team urging people to pledge their support for the game, saying: “My heart beats for hockey, does yours?”

The specially designed Hockey stick will be installed and made available across six cities namely Chandigarh, Bangalore, Mumbai, Bhopal, Rourkela, and Imphal. Additionally, two permanent installations at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar will also be made accessible to the masses. The Heartbeat Canter will cover other Indian cities including Jalandhar, Lucknow, Ranchi, New Delhi, Chennai and many more. ‘Heartbeat Canters’ are being sent across selected cities in India to promote the world cup. Turtle ‘Olly’ also has been made the official mascot of the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2018.

A countdown clock for the World Cup has also been established at Esplanade Mall in Rasulgarh Industrial Estate, Bhubaneswar.
