Mumbai Shopping Festival OMCPL
The first edition of the Mumbai Shopping Festival 2018 recently came to an end but not without setting the bar high for the future editions. The joint IP between OMCPL and the Government of Maharashtra with Hon. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis as its Brand Ambassador managed to create excitement among the Mumbuykars with thousands of brands enthralling millions of visitors at the festival.
During the 20 days festival, Mumbai witnessed 3 Night markets which went on till 4am with more than half a million shoppers enjoying street shopping and food trucks. Over 5000 brands and 10 of the largest malls held sales across the city. Shoppers won electronics, gold, bikes, holidays and cars. The bumper prize was a ready to move in home in Mumbai.

But the festival was not only about shopping. It was also about entertaining and engaging the city with 13 stage performances at prime public locations. These included Worli, Bandra, Vashi, Belapur, Thane, Powai, Chembur, Kandivali, and at the Airport. More than 630 enthralling performances were held across the city.

Rahul Gomes Managing Director of OMCPL and Chief Curator of MSF said, “Planning and implementing a festival of this size and scale usually takes four to six months. But we had just 10 days because the approval process was taking place at the highest levels in the Government. On top of it, all this was over the Christmas and New Year weekend. All this made the schedule all the more tight for us.”

“The only reason we were successful in managing a hitch-proof MSF is that everyone in the team started working in the MSF zone months before the event. We were very clear about everyone’s roles and responsibilities. Teams worked 24x7 to make this happen. Team members slept at the venues with vanity vans pulling on their reserve strength to pull this off. Each person worked on the festival — from our interns, directors, on ground partners and teams who made this festival as their own. We knew that we were making history with the MSF being the first of its kind in India. We are proud to have achieved this and will continue building this year on year with a vision of making this into the largest shopping festival in the WORLD.”

Mumbai Shopping Festival which debuted this year is all set to make a comeback with OMCPL and MTDC gearing up for the second edition.
