BookASmile, the charity initiative of online entertainment ticketing platform BookMyShow, in collaboration with Round Table India (RTI) organised pan-India screenings of the movie Toilet: Ek Prem Katha on August 19, 2017, for 1200 Jaipur Nagar Nigam employees who are involved in keeping the city clean and also arranged screenings for 660 children from Pune and Patna.
Building toilets are one of the focal points of improving our country’s sanitation standards. The motive to showcase this movie was to inculcate right hygiene habits. RTI also shares the vision of our Prime Minister, ‘To make India open Defecation Free’.
“We are delighted to work with BookASmile for this initiative. The screenings were immensely successful and have helped create more awareness regarding the sanitation issues in our country. We are looking forward to associating with many such causes that will bring hygiene awareness to our society,” says Christopher Aravinth, President, Round Table India.
Farzana Cama Balpande, Head- BookASmile said, “Movies can be a huge source of inspiration and play a huge role in creating awareness regarding critical issues. With the same intention, we decided to take over 16500 and more beneficiaries for Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. Out of these, Round Table India (RTI) alone helped us mobilize 13,626 less fortunate children last week. This week again we have decided to organize show for 1860 Jaipur Nagar Nigam employees and kids from Pune and Patna While the screenings acted as a perfect day outing and mode of enjoyment, we, more importantly, hope that through our joint efforts, we were able to create a positive long-lasting impression on Citizens of Jaipur.”
