Friday morning, July 21, saw 19 excited people belonging to the top management of Sandvine, assembled at Cubbon Park to begin the ‘City Challenge’ that was conceptualised and organised by Senses Creations, an Events Management company in Bangalore. City Challenge was a one day event that was designed to get the participants to step outside the four walls of their offices and explore the city like they never have before.

After a sumptuous breakfast at Ritz Carlton Bangalore, the participants were greeted by the Senses Creations team at Cubbon Park, who engaged them with some funny ice–breaker sessions. The participants were then divided into three groups Red, Yellow and Blue and given a set of ten riddle cards each. The answers to the riddle were various famous locations in Bangalore, like Vidhan Soudha, St. Mark’s Cathedral, Hockey Stadium etc.

By the end of the riddle solving session, each team had a list of ten places, which would serve as their route map for the day. While all the participants’ wallets were taken away to make the event more challenging, a sum of Rupees four thousand was given to each team for their day’s expense. Each team took off from Cubbon Park to their first destination and they were followed by the organising team. As each team reached every destination on their route map, they were greeted by the organising team, who handed them the task cards, which consisted of the task that the team needed to undertake while at the location and sustain proofs for final evaluation.

The task involved several fun things to do like, making the letters of ‘BANGALORE’ using the arms and legs in front of Vidhan Soudha, going on scavenger hunt with a limited budget at Commercial street etc. as well as heart-warming tasks like giving away sweets to the under-privileged people near St. Mark’s Cathedral. However, the highlight of the day for all the teams was their respective visit to the Mystery Rooms, Indiranagar. All the team arrived at the last common location at UB City, where they got refreshed and headed to the J.W. Marriott, to conclude the day with the dinner.

All the proofs collected by the team members were accounted for the points that were provided to each team. The Yellow team were the winners of the Mystery Room challenge while the Red team were declared as the overall winners. In spite of the different tasks, points and winner and losers, the common things that all the participants shared were the smiles and the wonderful stories of their day. The Senses Creations team was well appreciated by all the participants for fantastic coordination throughout the day. Radhika, Director Human Resource, Sandvine said, “Thank you so much for coordinating this event so well. We really enjoyed working with the Senses Creations team. ‎Looking forward to teaming with you for our future programs too.”

Sanidhi VJ, Director, Senses Creations talking about the event said, “The concept of city challenge was different and challenging, but we really appreciate it when the client requests for these out-of-box concepts since we get an opportunity to learn so many new things.”
