Hyatt Regency Delhi has appointed Sumit Gogia as their new Director of Events. Gogia brings with him 15 years of experience in the Hospitality industry and is a graduate from the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering and Nutrition, Panipat.
He started his career in the year 2000 as a Food & Beverage Attendant at the Grand Hyatt Delhi followed by Imperial, New Delhi as Assistant Manager- Food & Beverage and The Grand, New Delhi as Convention Sales Manager. He has also worked with Hindustan Times Media Limited as a Deputy Manager - Media Marketing, for a brief time period.
In 2006, Gogia joined Shangri-la, New Delhi as Manager Events and subsequently got promoted to Assistant Director – Events in July 2007. Post that in April 2008 he was promoted to the position of Director of Events. He joined The Leela Ambience Gurgaon in January 2010 as the Director of Catering and Conventions, and worked with them till May 2014.
Gogia’s last assignment was with Hyatt Regency Gurgaon as the Director of Events. He brings with him a variety of experience & wealth of knowledge.
Speaking about his new role, Sumit Gogia said, “I am excited about our new and unique event space – The Mansion. We wanted to set a benchmark. The Mansion includes 'Oval Room' (the main banquet space that can accommodate about 1000 people and has Delhi’s first theatrical open show kitchen), the hotel's old ballroom, an outdoor garden, and seven thematic living rooms' (complete with a bar, a study, a kitchen and a wine room) on the second floor for meetings and smaller events.”

These new spaces lend themselves very well to all MICE events (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) as they provide multiple options for plenary as well as break away rooms. “The new space is here to give guests an experience based on our core strengths: personalized settings coupled with innovative food and beverage concepts executed flawlessly," he adds.
