Priceless Possessions Host Men n Fashion @ Olive Bar & Kitchen to Raise Child Abuse Awareness

Priceless Possessions and Olive Bar and Kitchen organised  “Men n Fashion”, a special evening of fashion and luxury to raise awareness against girl child sexual abuse, on April 7, 2016 at the Olive Bar and Kitchen, Mehrauli, New Delhi. The initiative was supported by the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry, IFCCI & NGO SLAP.

Poonam Kumar, CEO, Priceless Possessions, elaborates, "All a Girl or a Woman wants is to be treated with equal respect and dignity. Given an equal opportunity and given a safe environment, a girl can grow up to be a strong and responsible woman who is an asset to her family, society as well as the nation, just like a man. However, the harsh reality is a drastic increase in sexual abuse of the girl child, especially in the lowest strata of the society. Through this event, we are raising a concern towards this heinous crime among the worthy men and seeking  their support to sensitise the men around them, be it their driver, peon, guard, etc and tell them to 'Be a Man'.”

The  initiative was well received with the presence of eminent personalities coming out to support the cause. Cricketers Atul Wasan, Mohd. Kaif, Industrialist Sanjeev Bilji, Gadget Guru Rajiv Makhni, FDCI President Sunil Sethi, and Sudhir Sobti, Delhi Tourism were present at the event, which was blessed by the presence of Yogi Ashwini of Dhyan Foundation.

The evening also presented some of the latest fashion and luxury trends for the influential men, in association with Chivas and Jacob’s Creek from the house of  Pernod Ricard India Pvt Ltd., bespoke luxury holidays by Abercrombie & Kent Vacations, and latest in Men’s Grooming by Mantra Vedic Spa & Salon. Designers Josh Goraya, Dhruv Vaish, Manish Bansal, and french brand CELIO presented their latest summer collection for men, while Mantra Vedic Spa & Salon presented latest hairstyles and grooming.

“We are happy to be associated with fashion in a way that it will bolster an earnest initiative to raise awareness against abuse of the girl child. We believe this initiative is a good step towards achieving equal respect and dignity for the girl child in the near future,” says an official statement from hosts Olive Bar & Kitchen.

NGO SLAP (Street Level Awareness Program) which is committed to raising awareness towards gender based violence, addressed the issue of “how to raise abuse proof children”.
 
The event also saw designers Poonam Bhagat, Leena Singh, Gautam Gupta, Manish Gupta, Ratti Dhodapkar, A&K, Devika & Mohit Sahni, Ramola Bachchan, Actor Nasir Abdullah, Abhinav Kant Chaturvedi, Former Femina Miss India Nikita Anand, Curator Bhavna Minocha, Socialites Devika Sahni, and Thenny Mejia, supporting the initiative.
