Gourmet dessert company Made@Home by AJ Foods recently catered deserts to the much talked about Pirzada wedding. The company successfully managed the feat of doing desserts for events that took place back to back over 4 days in November. This included the Mehendi ceremony and the actual wedding at The Pirzada Farms, Chandigarh.
The Mehendi ceremony was an exclusive and private affair of about 200 people. The brief was to come up with desserts which resonated with the traditional theme of the event, where the décor was characterised by lot of Phulkari (the traditional costume of Punjab), while entertainment featured, classic singers like Noori from Pakistan and subtle instruments like dhol, kalire, etc.
A live counter was set up for desserts, which was used to ice the main event cake with Butterceam Mehendi - the entire cake was made to resonate with the event focus, where the buttercream followed the pattern of Mehendi on the cake. Traditional desserts like Laddoo and Gulab Jamuns were presented in a new avatar - Laddoo and Gulab Jamun cupcakes with real khoya buttercream. A live counter was used to present these with different icings. More fusion desserts like Kesar Panacotta, Rose Baked Yogurt, Paan Shots, Rabri Macaroons, Motichoor Parfaits and much more was part of the exclusive desert table which was put up for the guests, which included many affluent families of North India and NRIs.
On the task of catering to the Mehendi event, Jasmeet Singh Sawhney, Founder, Made@Home said, “It was a challenging task to keep the deserts at the same pace in accordance to the theme, but Made@Home got accolades from the client for presenting something which was not seen in the Punjab region before - live dessert counters and bite sized desserts. At most events, by the time guests come to the desserts, they are either too full or want to have the regular options. We want to change this perception by offering mini dessert carts which would serve bite sized delicacies along with starters as well as making live desserts.”
Appreciating Made@Home’s delivery at the event, the client said, "While the food and decor was amazing, all these highly anticipated desserts put up by Chef Anubhav have created an immediate niche for us within our entire community and friend circle. For the first time, people have witnessed desserts on a live counter which resonates with the theme. Also, there were small carts in which bite sized deserts were moved around the venue which is a fairly new concept."
With operations in Delhi and Chandigarh, this boutique patisserie offers desserts from across the globe and specialises in French, Persian, Middle Eastern and Indian desserts. Offering their products to private as well as corporate events, Made@Home also has an exclusive tasting room for wedding cakes. Other areas of business where Made@Home has prominence are themed Live Cooking Sessions, Personal Chef Service, Wedding Menu Consultation and Food Styling.
The events that took place over 4 days featured themed fusion desserts, a live counter and mini dessert carts.
