The Maiden Indian Film Festival Vietnam (IFFV) to Take Place in Hanoi

The inaugural Indian Film Festival Vietnam (IFFV) will take place at the National Cinema Centre in Hanoi, Vietnam from December 18 to 23, to bridge the gap between the entertainment industries of the two countries. Apart from top Vietnamese Government functionaries, the film festival will also be attended by India's ambassador to Vietnam Preeti Saran. Aimed at offering the Vietnamese community an opportunity to learn about India's multi-faceted culture and long history of filmmaking, IFFV is curated by Capt. Rahul Bali and R C Dalal.

The festival will showcase films from or about India. The line-up includes ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, ‘3 Idiots’, ‘OMG - Oh My God!’, ‘Wake Up Sid’, ‘Paheli’, ‘Jodhaa Akbar’, ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, ‘Maqbool’ and ‘Taare Zameen Par’, among others. 

Three award winning filmmakers from India; Rahul Mittra, producer of hit films like Saheb Biwi aur Gangster and Saheb Biwi aur Gangster Returns and CEO of Wave Cinemas; and directors Rakesh OmPrakash Mehra and Umesh Shukla will open this six-day fest.

The Indian filmmakers will also attend a seminar on ‘Vietnam -India Cinema Cooperation and its Role in the Promotion of Tourism" and will be taken across Vietnam's major cities in order to see the country’s exotic locations for future film shoots. 

The 6-day festival will showcase films from or about India, and will be attended by award-winning filmmakers and directors.
