Parle erects idol made of 3 lakh biscuits at oldest pandal in Kolkata

This year during Durga Puja, Parle tied up with Bosepukur Sitala Mandir, one of the oldest and revered Puja Pandals in Kolkata which saw millions of devotees converge each day of the four-day-long extravaganza. Inaugurated by the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, Parle propagated the message of equal food distribution through the Parle Bosepukur Sitala Mandir Pandal.
Parle Products and the Bosepukur committee directed its creative efforts towards a novel concept and unique design sensibilities in the making of the Pandal. The innovative concept was designed to pay homage to Goddess Annapurna, the goddess of food and nourishment.
The design of the Pandal depicted a human food chain that was constructed with over three lakh biscuit and five thousand candy replicas. The products used were some of Parle's most loved brands - Parle Top, Parle Marie, Parle G, Parle Cream Cracker, Parle Mango Bite, Parle Kaccha Mango Bite and Parle Londonderry.
Parle Products' engaged actress Subhashree as the brand ambassador for the festive season. Subhashree and many other popular celebrities like Gargi Roy Chaudhury, Abir Chatterjee, Paoli Dam, Parambrata Chatterjee and Sonali Chaudhury visited the Pandal during the Durga Puja celebrations.
The confectionary giant had also announced a special offer during the festival, where loyal consumers availed free VIP entry passbooks to visit the Pandals on the purchase of 2 Parle Top packs. Additionally a few lucky winners also won a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet and dine with popular Bengali actress Subhashree Ganguly.
