Azan Morani, a prominent figure in the world of pyrotechnics, continues the legacy of the Morani family with dedication and skill. Beginning his journey in 2013 under the mentorship of Fireworks by Grucci in the USA, Azan has organized impressive displays at various notable events. His work spans music festivals and international ceremonies, where he emphasizes safety and innovation in his craft, aiming to elevate the standards of the fireworks industry in India and beyond.

Recently, Azan proudly represented India at the International Fireworks Championship held on September 7, 2024, at the Turtle Creek Stadium in Traverse City, Michigan. His efforts culminated in Team India winning the 2024 People’s Choice Award at this prestigious competition. Following a successful inaugural fireworks championship, the 2024 International Fireworks Festival was bigger and better, featuring teams from Australia, the United Kingdom, India, the Philippines, Finland, and the USA. Each night had its own audience-voted winner: on the first night, Team Finland captivated the audience with a Finnish techno finale, while on the second night, Azan’s team dazzled spectators with a Bollywood-inspired spectacle.

"It takes about 2 hours for every minute in the sky, and it's about 10 to 12 minutes, so you can do the math on how much time that took to design," Azan explained. "We have a very good team on the ground to bring our vision into reality."

In addition to this championship, Azan also participated in the International Fireworks Competition held on August 17, 2024, at the Herrenhäuser Gardens in Hannover, Germany. Renowned fireworks artists from around the world captivated spectators over five dates between May and September with their spectacular pyrotechnical effects and perfectly coordinated music.

At this competition, Azan secured second place among competitors from five other countries, showcasing the talent and artistry of the Morani family. This particular event saw 11,500 fans thrilled in Herrenhausen Gardens, with the Indian Association of Hannover organizing a vibrant pre-show featuring yoga dance, drumming workshops, and classical Kathak performances. Bala Ramani, the president of the association, expressed pride in the strong turnout, noting, “We have 100 committed people participating.”

“Fireworks are a part of Indian culture,” Ramani explained, highlighting their significance in festivals, especially during Diwali, the Festival of Lights, which celebrates the triumph of good over evil. This was particularly poignant as Amir Morani Fireworks, led by Azan’s father Amir and grandfather Gulamali Morani, made its Hannover debut in front of such a large audience.

Azan was deeply impressed by the venue: “This majestic setting demands visual grandeur and a special script so that the audience leaves in awe.” The display was met with enthusiastic applause, encapsulating the pride felt by attendees.

“Simply fantastic,” said Navnit Bega from Dortmund, reflecting the collective sentiment of those present. As the evening came to a close, Bala Ramani expressed hope for their victory, underscoring the spirit of competition that fuels such events.

Azan Morani continues to push the boundaries of pyrotechnics, combining his family’s rich heritage with a modern vision for safety and creativity. As he represents India on the international stage, his commitment to excellence ensures that the Morani legacy will shine brightly for years to come.

Azan's work spans music festivals and international ceremonies, where he emphasizes safety and innovation in his craft, aiming to elevate the standards of the fireworks industry in India and beyond.
