Banyan Tree is all geared up to present the second edition of the highly anticipated World Jazz festival in Bengaluru on June 3 and will head to Mumbai for two days on June 4 and 5. The music festival will feature some renowned artists from across the globe in collaboration with the Amersfoort Jazz Festival (Festival of Netherlands).
Showcasing some of the best Jazz Musicians from the Netherlands, South Africa, the USA, and Thailand. Easy listening, funk, jazz-rock, ballads, fusion includes Indian jazz Hindustani music inputs in a jazz format, vocal and swing to bebop and the big band sound, it all will be there. The festival will present world music besides Jazz music.
Jazz music reached Mumbai’s shores in the 1920s, and performances of Jazz Music became a recurring highlight at the Taj Mahal Hotel. The inaugural edition of the festival launched in early February 2020 in Mumbai and Pune. It brought an eclectic mix of international jazz musicians. The World Jazz Festival also presented some Indian Classical musicians, since both Indian Classical Music and Jazz involve great levels of improvisation and spontaneity, and the tying together of these sounds created the genre and presentation of Indo-Jazz music.
