Paytm Insider is offering its platform free to creators and organisers who wish to host events and raise funds for a charity of their choice engaged in Covid relief, as part of a ‘Fundraising Week’ initiative from 24 to 30 May 2021.

Over 50 creators, organisations and artistes are already on board and many more would be joining soon, according to Insider.

As of 10 am on 21 May, 41 events across genres like workshops, art & theatre, music, comedy, dance, games, quiz, kids and talk were listed on the Fundraising Events page of the ticketing platform. All ticketing revenue from the virtual events will go to the charity chosen by the concerned artiste / organiser.

Shreyas Srinivasan, CEO, Paytm Insider said, “Aiding the needy in whichever way possible is the need of the hour. In these trying times, we all need to come forward and contribute to the wellbeing of our fellow citizens. The Fundraiser week is our humble effort to help society and offer our platform for a good cause. With this initiative, we also strive to offer unique experiences to our audience. We hope our esteemed creators, artists, and patrons will come forward in large numbers and support our initiative.”

Those who are already part of the programme include Terence Lewis Professional Training Institute, Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, Kommune, Tape a Tale and TheatreNama.

Mira Nair’s Monsoon Wedding will be screened along with a conversation with the filmmaker. Among other popular names slated to perform during Fundraising Week are Atul Khatri and Varun Grover.

The platform has designed a special donation page, through which non-profit organisations like Khalsa Aid, Seva for Artists, Khaana Chahiye and more can be supported. Insider has also started listing verified donation drives and volunteering activities to create awareness among its users.

Paytm Insider is also considering producing and hosting a free event to raise awareness during this period, inviting various artistes across industries to spend time with fans, either performing, doing meet and greets, or simply talking about their experiences.

Platform offered free for creators and organisers to host events and raise funds for charity of their choice; all proceeds will go to charity; over 40 events listed so far, more to come.
