13th Mirchi Music Awards Honours Best of the Decade with ‘Dus Saal Bemisaal’ Theme

Smule Mirchi Music Awards Dus Saal Bemisaal Sonu Nigam

Music and entertainment company Mirchi hosted the 13th edition of its music awards property, Smule Mirchi Music Awards, on 11 and 12 March 2021, celebrating the best of the music industry and its talent in the last ten years. The theme this year was ‘Dus Saal Bemisaal’.

The evening witnessed host Sonu Nigam’s heartfelt tribute to all film dignitaries and musicians who passed away.

Meet Bros and Khushboo Grewal with Smule’s Mirchi Cover Star Season 3 winner Chirag Chopra performed a tribute to COVID warriors. Other performances included Dhvani Bhanushali’s Gen Z act, Shruti Pathak and Aditya Narayan’s jugalbandi hosting, Tulsi Kumar’s performance, Bharti Singh’s comedy act, Rajkummar Rao’s special appearance and lastly Kanika Kapoor, Antara Mitra and Anusha Mani’s performance on the best songs of the decade.

It brings together industry stalwarts, budding artistes and electrifying performances for an evening of music and entertainment. And through our ‘Dus Saal Bemisaal’ theme, we say music ko Mirchi ka salaam.”

The awards honoured musical talent across many categories like Song Of The Decade, Album Of The Decade, Male And Female Vocalist of the Decade, Music Composer Of The Decade, Lyricist Of The Decade, Best Raag Inspired Song, Sound Producer And Engineer Of The Decade along with Listeners' Choice Song and Album Of The Decade.

A special jury award was instituted for Golden Era Album of the Decade, Outstanding Contribution to Hindi Film Music and the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Mirchi Social Media Star, Mirchi Trendsetter of the Year, Mirchi Make It Hot Award of the Year & Smule’s Most Jammed Artist were some other categories where winners were felicitated.

The award show will be telecast on 28 March on Colors TV.
