26th ‘Hunar Haat’ to be Organised by Ministry of Minority Affairs at New Delhi From February 20

The Union Ministry of Minority Affairs is organizing the 26th ‘HunarHaat’ of indigenous artisans and craftsmen from across the country at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi from February 20, 2021. It will be formally inaugurated by Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan, on February 21, 2021. Union Minister of State (I/C) for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Mansukh Mandaviya, will be the Chief Guest for the event.

The 26th ‘Hunar Haat’ will be organised with the theme of ‘Vocal for Local’ from February 20 to March 1, 2021 where more than 600 artisans and craftsmen, including a large number of women artisans, from more than 31 States and Union Territories (UTs) will be participating.

Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, “The ‘Hunar Haat’, a perfect platform to promote indigenous products of artisans and craftsmen from across the country, has provided employment and employment opportunities to more than 5 lakh artisans, craftsmen and artistes yet. The Union Ministry of Minority Affairs will provide employment opportunities to 7,50,000 artisans and craftsmen through 75 ‘Hunar Haats’ which will be organised during celebration of 75 years of the country’s Independence. Artisans and craftsmen from more than 31 States and UTs are participating in the ‘Hunar Haat’ in New Delhi. Artisans and craftsmen from Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Odisha, Puducherry, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, etc., are participating in ‘HunarHaat’ at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium for display and sale of their exquisite indigenous handmade products.”

‘Hunar Haat’ at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will also be available virtually at http://hunarhaat.org and on GeMportal where the people of the country and abroad can buy ‘Hunar Haat’ products online too.

Lakhs of people visited the ‘Hunar Haat’organised at Mysuru, Karnataka from February 6 to 14 and encouraged the indigenous artisans and craftsmen. The people also bought indigenous products on a large scale to strengthen Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for ‘Vocal for Local’.

Visitors will also get the opportunity to enjoy traditional delicacies from every region of the country at ‘Bawarchikhana’ section of ‘HunarHaat’ at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Besides, the people will also enjoy different cultural and musical programmes to be presented by renowned artistes of the country.

In the coming days, ‘Hunar Haat’ will be organised at Goa, Bhopal, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ranchi, Surat/Ahmedabad, Kochi, Guwahati, Bhubaneshwar, Patna, Jammu-Kashmir and other places.

‘Mushaira’ themed ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ 
The Union Ministry of Minority Affairs will also organise ‘Mushaira’ on the theme of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ in New Delhi on February 20, 2021 where renowned poets of the country will participate.

Renowned poets and poetess such as Wasim Barelvi; Shabeena Adeeb; Manzar Bhopali; Popular Meeruthi; Saba Balrampuri; Naseem Nikhat; Mumtaz Naseem; Col. VP Singh; Alok Shrivastava; Sardar Surendra Singh Shajar; Khursheed Haider; Aqeel Nomani; Dr Nayyar Jalalpuri; Sikandar Hayat Gadbad will enthrall the audience in ‘Mushaira’, to be organised at Dr Ambedkar International Centre, Janpath in New Delhi.
