Ferns N Petals is witnessing a 100 percent rise in online orders for Rakhis and gifts this Rakshabandhan, to the tune of 9,000 orders a day.

This is driven by a shift to online buying because of the Covid19 pandemic. But the arrival of new customers to its fold also has a flipside.

Manish Saini, COO, eCommerce, Ferns N Petals, said, "We are observing 100pc growth rate in orders as compared to last year, as we are getting almost 9000 Rakhi and gift orders every day. However, we have witnessed a 6pc drop in the average ticket size of purchase, mainly because of a new segment of customers (with small ticket size) coming online, who are taking the precautionary measures to be safe and shopping online.”

Ferns N Petals has come up with over a thousand designs of Rakhis this year. "We are taking all the safety measures like sanitizing all the items that are being shipped and ensuring contactless deliveries," added Saini.

Ferns N Petals expects a 60 percent growth in Rakshabandhan (3rd August 2020) sales over last year, amounting to 7 to 8pc of its annual revenue (2020-'21).

According to media reports, the company is estimated to have clocked around Rs.500 crore in revenue in FY 2019-'20.

The company is delivering in almost 80 countries this year and offering free shipping and same-day delivery in certain markets like Canada, UK, UAE, Singapore, South Africa, Malaysia, and Indonesia. In the USA, Australia, Germany, Ireland, and Netherlands, among others, it is offering next-day delivery.
