Wizcraft Steers High with the Voyage of Wows 'Angriya'

Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. conceptualized and carved the launch of the phenomenal historic revival of the Mumbai Goa sea route via the very first domestic cruise liner 'Angriya' on November 13, 2018. 

Angriya is a luxurious 7 storied, 130 meters long cruise ship operated by Angriya Sea Eagle Pvt Ltd. Angriya is dedicated to the memory of Sarkhel Kanhoji Angre and the Maratha navy, hence the name Angriya. It is reactivating the Mumbai – Goa sea route for experiential travelers as well as families and groups who wish to experience the fabled Konkan coast from the sea. The themes touched upon for the ship provide an extensive glimpse of marine and coastal life, Maratha naval history and introduces coastal cuisine and culture to a vast audience. Angriya now unwraps a whole new way of travel by sea after a gap of two decades. The entire journey will be covered in a span of 12 hours. Angriya connects the holiday capital of India – Goa to the commercial capital of India- the city of Mumbai.

On October 20, 2018, the Mumbai Port Trust launched the domestic cruise terminal. The event saw the presence of Shri Devendra Phadnavis, Shri Nitin Gadkari, Shri Sanjay Bhatia, Chairman of Mumbai Port Trust and Shri Yashodhan Wanage, Dy. Chairman, MPT along with eminent personalities and dignitaries. A special conceptual dance performance brought out the real essence and vision of Angriya in the event. 

The evening sunset hues in the water saw the inauguration and historic flag off commenced by Shri Nitin Gadkari and Shri Devendra Phadnavis with select media. The maiden voyage of ANGRIYA was indeed a Voyage of Wows with a specially conceptualised son-et-lumiere show. Wizcraft arranged for parties of varied flavors on board during the sailing from Mumbai to Goa. There was a DJ party on the heli-deck and a live band in the lounge. There were other activities like portrait making, name on rice etc. to engage the guests. 

On October 21, 2018, the maiden voyage envisaged a grand welcome at the Marmagoa port jetty at Goa. The evening saw a grand party arranged for all the eminent dignitaries and VIPs of Goa. The who’s- who of Goa had the very first glimpse of the historic Angriya. 

On October 22, 2018, Angriya sailed from Goa to Mumbai with media and guests from Goa who experienced their very first Voyage of Wows. 

Speaking on the occasion, Wiz Niyati Vora, Vice President- Western Region, Brand Activation, Wizcraft said, “It was truly a momentous occasion for us being associated with the revival of the Mumbai-Goa sea route. Executing an event of a grand scale at the jetty and then on the sea presented its own set of unique challenges. But the team was able to pre-empt these challenges and work towards a flawless event. ”
