Red Bull Announces 4th Edition of 'Jod Ke Tod' Prior To Gokulashtami

More than 50 teams are ready to perform staggering feats and challenge each other at making the fastest, tallest and strongest human pyramids at the 4th Edition of Red Bull Jod Ke Tod on August 26, 2018 at MET Grounds, Bandra. Red Bull Jod Ke Tod which is hosted prior to Gokulashtami, aims at giving the popularly celebrated community festival, a sporting makeover. It is a great platform to participate and win a competition in the spirit of the festival conducted with rules and regulations and great safety measures including the usage of a mat and helmets.

The 2017 edition of Red Bull Jod Ke Tod received an overwhelming response as over 40 teams of women and men from the city’s best dahi handi mandals competed in numerous rounds to become the champion of Red Bull Jod Ke Tod in Mumbai. Last year, Sarvajanik Ganeshoutsav Mandal & Parle Sports Club were crowned men and women’s champions respectively.  With winning timings of 16.84 seconds (men’s category) and 19.83 seconds (women’s category), both teams emerged victorious after an edge of the seat nail biting final event. 

Climbing is the major common factor of the tournament and Red Bull Bouldering Athlete Tuhin Satarkar. Excited about this year’s edition, Tuhin said, “The festival of Dahi handi is one of the most celebrated festivals in our country and initiatives such as Red Bull Jod Ke Tod are instrumental in recognizing and elevating the agility, athleticism and courage of incredible people participating. It was great to see teams participating in huge numbers last year and it is going to be even bigger this time around. I am very excited for the 4th edition of Red Bull Jod ke Tod and wish the participants all the very best.”
