Mantri Square, a mall situated in Malleshwaram, North Bangalore decided to treat its little shoppers with summer camp with free entry for a fortnight. The Camp at Mantri Square’ was organised from the April 28 to May 13, 2018, and was executed by Senses Creations.

A colourful stage with picket fencing which imitated colour pencils was placed at the centre of the mall atrium. An equally brightly coloured registration booth was placed next to it. While the weekdays at the mall were occupied by the hustle and bustle of the children attending the camp, the weekends at Mantri Square treated shoppers of all ages with feasts of entertainment which consisted of Bubble show, magic and balloon-making workshop, puppet show, and walk around performance by the mirror man.

Carnival games like the Cactus toss, Ring the bottle, Dog and his Bone, Archery and Basket Pong were placed inside a game zone, opposite to the stage. Audience of all ages were allowed to ponder their love for carnival by being allowed to play these games for free.

May 13, also celebrated as Mother’s Day, was the last day of Camp at Mantri Square. The day began at noon with the carnival games and continued with several activities dedicated to mothers and their children. The main event of the day, the finale of the Camp at Mantri Square comprised of performance by children dedicated to their mothers. The event concluded with distribution of participation certificate.

Camp at Mantri Square managed to contribute precious memories in the minds of participating children and it was evident on their faces as they clicked away lots of pictures. Preksha, one of the children said “I am sad that the camp is over, but I look forward to attending next camp the next year”. This enthusiasm was also echoed by her mother who thanked the Mantri Square, the teachers and the organising team.
