Evenflow Experiences Weave Together the 7th Edition of Wipro Annual Earthian Awards

Bengaluru based Evenflow Experiences was roped in to execute the seventh edition of the Wipro Annual Earthian Awards for the year 2017. The awards recognise excellence in learning about sustainability within the education process in schools and colleges in India. Wipro earthian, one of India’s largest sustainability education programs for schools and colleges, received over 1200 submissions from across the country. An independent jury recognised eleven school and eight college teams as winning entries. 

Wipro earthian encourages young citizens from schools to learn about water conservation and sustaining biodiversity while at the college level it encourages students to learn, analyse, understand and explore how India's urban sustainability challenges can be overcome. Wipro Earthian Awards 2017 felicitated the winners of school and colleges from across India.

The award function, conducted every year at the Wipro Campus in Sarjapur, has a regulation to use only recycled and recyclable materials for decor and setup. Staying in line with the core idea of earthian, evenflow experiences executed the decor for the awards function by avoiding conventional flex and plastic products, and instead using only recycled/recyclable materials for stage, signages, messages and event branding.

The award function also included an interaction session with Azim Premji, Chairman of Wipro Limited. This was followed by presentations and talks by thought leaders and practitioners of eco sustainability like Gerry Martin, a researcher and conservationist, popularly known as India's most famous snake man. He educated the attendees about the importance of sustainability for a better tomorrow.

Talking about the challenges in executing an award function that saw about 250 students attending from different schools cross the country, Nikesh Kumar, event specialist at Evenflow Experiences says, “Setting up the Wipro Sarjapur campus for the awards in itself is big task as the campus is quite extensive. We had to make sure that buses after buses of school students who entered the venue were properly guided, that they were kept entertained during they journey to the venue, and yet the excitement for an event as relevant was kept at its highest. Students got to interact with Azim Premji, who is usually not present at other Wipro award functions. It was delighting to see that students were amazed by the set up made of recyclable materials. What particularly interested them was the painting activity where each student played a role in creating a planet of their dreams; green and sustainable.”

Apart from managing the awards ceremony, Evenflow Experiences also co-ordinated on the transportation requirements of the participating teams from hotels, cash component to the teams for their daily expenses for two days and to check if the schedule for the day was on track.
