GAP ran “Recycle Your Blues,” a denim initiative from December 4 to 14, 2017 in multiple outlets across India aimed at engaging with brand customers as well as returning to the community. Under the offer, customers could drop any old pair of denims at multiple GAP outlets designated for the same and avail a 20 percent discount on the purchase of a new pair.

Additionally, the store also offered customers in the Delhi/NCR region the added advantage of receiving free denim customisation on the purchase of Gap denim, which included personalised patches, embellishments or the destructed denim trend. GAP will be donating all the denim collected through the initiative to different charities.

The brand is making great inroads in the Indian market and is targeting fast expansion and high revenues. Earlier this year, GAP opened up an e-tail store on Amazon India. The brand is launching multiple customer engagement initatives in the country to revv up its sales and improve reach.

The campaign focuses on sustainability, tracking the lifecycle of the product to measure its impact, and sustainable sourcing of raw materials.
