Mumbai to Witness First Ever ‘Unplugged Marathi Live' Concert

Hansa Events is producing a series of Unplugged events across Maharashtra and Unplugged Marathi Live in Mumbai is the first of the series. The first show in Mumbai has received a great response ever since it was announced.

The first Unplugged Marathi Live is scheduled to take place on June 2 at the Yashwant Natya Auditorium in Matunga in Mumbai and is presented by Loksatta with Bank of India as Associate Sponsors, Radio City as Radio Partners and 9X Jhakkas as Music Partners.

'Unplugged Marathi Live'(UML) is a series of live music shows, that starts its journey across the state of Maharashtra. Versatile singer-composer Vaishali Samant, in a new avatar, will be the headliner at this preview show before the series goes on the road with a galaxy of talented artistes after the monsoon. Audiences in the state, who have been deprived of premium entertainment music, will now have their fill with UML.

Vaishali will showcase some of her most popular songs, but also introduce, for the first time, new additions to present audiences with a whole new musical experience. Accompanying her on stage will be a few of her friends from the industry including lyricist Ashwini Shende, singer Jaydeep Bagwadkar and director Kedar Shinde.

A special highlight of the evening will be a display by renowned composers Avinash-Vishwajeet that would give music lovers a tiny glimpse into the kind of UML events they will be bringing up soon. The music arrangement for the Mumbai show is by popular music arranger Kamlesh Bhadkamkar.

Sujit Kote, Senior VP and National Head, Hansa Events, points out that UML has been conceptualized to provide premium entertainment in Marathi. While unplugged music has been attempted in many formats in Marathi, it has never been done in its original format, he adds. This kind of music is a softer, organic way of presenting a song with no electronic instruments.

Hansa Events, part of the RK Swamy Hansa Group, is organising this concert series and brings to it the agency's decade-long experience to some of the biggest brands in the country.
