White Fox India Justin Bieber
White Fox India has been under the media glare for a while now. Firstly, for bringing the global pop sensation Justin Bieber to India, then for meeting Bieber’s explosive demands, and finally for the mixed reactions they garnered post the concert execution. Now as per an article published in the Mumbai Mirror, the concert organisers - White Fox India have been asked to pay an additional duty of INR 92.5 lakh and a penalty of INR 1.85 crore for the violation at the concert guidelines at DY Patil Stadium on May 10, 2017.
The article also revealed that the entertainment branch of the Thane Collectorate has served a show-cause notice on May 22, 2017 to Arjun Jain, Director of White Fox India, as they had taken the permission from the authorities for merely 34,529 spectators, while the special squad of the Collectorate found 7,272 more spectators there upon inspection.
It is also believed that apart from the extra spectators, no duty was paid or details were provided about the sponsors at the event.
Speaking exclusively to EVENTFAQS, representation of White Fox India has confirmed that while a show-cause notice has been received it is nothing more than a hygiene protocol and all the issues raised by the collectorate will be resolved today itself. Additionally, the amount of fine mentioned in the media reports is exaggerated and not true. The organisers have said that an official statement on the same will be released by them shortly.
