Cineyug Brings Bollywood and India’s Top Artistes Together for the Umang Mumbai Police Show

Umang - The Mumbai Police show is an annual charity event for the welfare of the police force where celebrities attend, interact and perform for the police and their families to support the force. The event this year was once again scripted, directed and managed by Cineyug, and took place on January 21 at the MMRDA Grounds, BKC, Mumbai.

The guest of honour for the evening were Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis who and Dr. Subhash Chandra Goel. The event was hosted by Dattatray Padsalgikar, Commissioner of Mumbai Police; Sanjay Saxena. Jt. C.P. Crime; Deven Bharti, Jt.C.P. L&O; Anup Kumar Singh, Jt. C.P. Adm; Chhering Dorje, Addl. C.P. (W.R.); and Satya Narayan Choudhary, D.C.P. Zone-IX.

The program was telecast on Zee TV on January 29.

On managing the event, Mazhar Nadiadwala, Managing Director, Dome@NSCI remarked, "It is always a pleasure working on this show for our Mumbai police force. It is because of them we are safe and guarded. We are grateful for their invaluable support and thus on this day we along with the entertainment industry like to reciprocate by thanking them and putting together a special evening for their entertainment where the entire industry comes together to celebrate the real heroes of our country. Our team works diligently with passion on this show as it is one of the important shows with maximum participation of celebrities, members and delegates in terms of artiste performances, interactions and attendance."

The witty, humorous and charming Manish Paul and Sugandha Mishra hosted the evening that witnessed amazing performances by Bollywood and Television stars, singers and comedians.

Superstar Varun Dhawan, performed on ‘Saturday Saturday’, joined by Alia Bhatt who performed with him on ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya’. The duo also went amidst the police in the audience and performed with them. Further, Alia Bhatt sang her latest song ‘Ikk Kudi’ live.

Parineeti Chopra mesmerized the crowd with her performance on her latest hit song ‘Jaaneman Aa’, while Vaani Kapoor performed to popular songs from her latest movie ‘Befikre’.

Other performers included Waluscha De Sousa, Urvashi Rautela, Nora Fatehi, Neetu Chandra, Kiara Advani, Gauhar Khan, Kriti Sanon, Shreyas Talpade and Akash from the popular Marathi movie ‘Sairat’.

Comedian Jamie Lever amused the crowd with her stand-up act.

The singers who performed included Meet Bros, Pritam and Amit Mishra, Armaan Malik, Ayushmann Khurrana, Kailash Kher, Sonu Nigam, Aman Trikha, Shadab, Aditya Narayan and Himesh Reshammiya along with Iulia Vantur to name a few.

The charming Arjun Kapoor shook a leg on his popular track ‘High Heels’ while Anil  Kapoor interacted and danced with Manish on his iconic song ‘Kaante Nahi Katte.’ Kangana Ranaut interacted with the audience and gave an inspiring message to women of India and thanked the police force for their support. Dancing sensation Tiger Shroff performed on beat Pe Booty while doing his popular flexible splits. The gorgeous Preity Zinta interacted with host Manish Paul and danced on ‘Mahi Ve’. The Shetty sisters, Shilpa and Shamita created an enthralling dance moment as they got into a battle of the thumkas. The evergreen beauty Madhuri Dixit danced along with Manish Paul on her popular song ‘Ek Do Teen.’

Tabu, Mouni Roy and Anushka Sharma spoke about women empowerment and the need to be an independent and fearless woman.

Amruta Devendra Fadnavis (wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister), performed a melodious singing act enchanting the audience.

Ace choreographer, Shiamak Davar's troupe presented a powerful dance performance while the special children from his Victory Arts Foundation charmed and mesmerized everyone with their performance. Sushant Singh Rajput gave a tribute to his favourite heroes Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan as he performed on their iconic songs. Akshay Kumar stole the show with his energetic surprise performance on the Marathi rage song Zingaat.

The event took place on January 21 at the MMRDA Grounds, BKC and was telecast on January 29 on Zee TV.
