Cineyug Star Screen Awards Salman Khan MMRDA Grounds

Cineyug scripted, directed, managed and coordinated the Star Screen Awards 2017 which took place on January 4 at MMRDA Grounds, BKC, Mumbai.

Besides the performances, the theme of the show ‘friendship in fraternity’ witnessed the two ruling Khans of Bollywood, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan coming together for the first time on Indian television to host a show. They made a friendly entry together on cycles, recreating Bollywood's most iconic comeback of Karan Arjun with Yeh Bandhan Toh Pyaar Ka Bandhan Hai.

The other co-hosts for the show were Karan Johar and Karan Singh Grover. With the event being a New Year Celebration as well, all artists performed on some of the best party numbers of 2015-2016.

The evening witnessed spectacular performances by Zarine Khan who performed on some of Salman Khan's hit songs such as 440 volt, Jumme Ki Raat, Fevicol and more as well as a surreal and captivating performance on songs such as Mahi Ve, Wajah Tum Ho & Tumhe Apna Banane Ka as she descended from a LED swing onto the stage. Disha Patani, the debutante to Bollywood with the hit movie M.S Dhoni, made an enchanting entry as she flew above the audience on a man with wings on her song Kaun Tujhe and also performed on songs such as Nashe Si Chad Gayi, Breakup Song and Kaala Chashma in Hip-Hop EDM style with several laser effects enhancing the act. The gorgeous Sonam Kapoor paid a tribute to the evergreen beauty Rekha through her performance on some of the most iconic songs of Rekha such as Salaam-e-Ishq, Pyaar Do Pyaar Lo & Pardesiya where Rekha’s face is created with placards. Rekha herself also created one of the most magnificent moments on the show as she performed live on her iconic song Pardesiya as she received the Star Screen Lifetime Achievement Award. Tamannah's act witnessed her as the fiery queen as she made an enthralling entry through a ring on truss flanked by dancers mid-air from above the audience. The act was packaged with fire jugglers and fire performers as she performed on songs such as Sau Tarah Ke, Cutie Pie and Yaar Na Miley. Part 2 of Tamannaah's act witnesses her making a stunning entry with aerial performers on a chandelier on Deewani Mastaani. This led into Tamannah doing a belly dance fusion on the songs Ude Dil Befikre and Afghan Jalebi. The fabulous duo Faisal and Siddharth performed a Red VS Blue thematic act doing spectacular stunts on a trampoline along with X1X Crew on songs such as Bolo Har Har, Malhari, concluding with both of them jamming on Toh Dishoom. Tiger Shroff made an entry by jumping from a sealed box carried over the audience on a satellite stage in the midst of the crowd and performs on Heropanti mashup, Get Ready to Fight, Tu Meri and Dheere Dheere. Towards the end of the act, Tiger magically disappeared. Tiger was then shown appearing on a large movable ship and performs on Befikra musical track, Bulleya with aerial performers and Beat Pe Booty where he also interacted with the celebrities seated in the audience. As a part of Star’s new show, Dil Hai Hindustani, Badshah was seen performing along with one male (Indian) and one female contestant (Foreigner). This trio performed on hit songs such as Kar Gayi Chul and DJ Wale Babu.

The finale act was performed by Salman Khan where he made a grand entry on a tractor on a mashup of his hit songs, leading into his enthralling performance on Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai on stage, after which he switched and moved onto a LED mini float, taking a 360 degree round of the audience on his hits songs, finally concluding on stage with the countdown to new year 2017. At this point a huge 2017 prop came on to the stage from above along with all the other elements of the stage coming to life with a grand display of fireworks and confetti.
