The airline industry has one of the highest safety standards in comparison with any other mode of transportation or industry.  Jet Airways attempted to reinforce this statistic with a conference titled 'I am Safeti'.  Produced by Event Speciale, the daylong conference was held on November 28, 2016 at the ballroom of the Hyatt Regency hotel in Mumbai with the aim to create awareness in the industry about the latest developments and to instil a robust attitude towards safety.

The conference started off on a traditional note with the customary lighting of the oil lamp. Elevating the glam quotient of the conference was vivacious Mandira Bedi who was the host for the day. In true airline style the attendees were welcomed with a safety briefing aided with visual instructions executed by some of Jet Airways'  cabin crew who lined up alongside the seated guests just as they normally would on board an aircraft for the in-flight safety briefing. These guests included pilots, senior airline management and a few high-level Government officials.

The conference then preceded with the speakers, leading experts in airline safety that included management executives as well as pilots whose detailed presentations were seamlessly projected via State-of-the-Art projection equipment. Adding to the celebrity quotient was the guest speaker, feisty actress/entrepreneur and rookie pilot Gul Panag, who enthralled the guests with her heartfelt acknowledgement of how learning to fly had changed her entire outlook towards safety in life. She then spoke about how in a country like India with its non-existent regard for safety, aviation is the only discipline that brings under its umbrella people who would generally fail to give a second thought to safety in their regular dealings.

The concluding message through the event was that a robust attitude towards safety must be indoctrinated into the regular functioning of the now burgeoning aviation sector.
