Thousands Participate in Jio Amaravati Marathon Managed by Mira Events

The second edition of ‘Jio Amaravati Marathon’ on January 8 drew thousands of professionals and fitness enthusiasts together and proved to be the perfect hotspot for Jio to extend its digital journey as the lead sponsor of the much talked about sports event. The half marathon (21 km run, 10 KM run and 5 KM run) were flagged off from the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium, Amaravati by Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas, Ministers Devineni Uma, Prattipati Pullarao, City Police Commissioner Gautam Sawang and Mandapalli Mahesh Kumar, CEO – AP,  Reliance Jio. An intiative of DEEP trust, the marathon was managed by Mira Events.

Commenting on the event, Mandapalli Mahesh Kumar, CEO - Andhra Pradesh, Reliance Jio said, “We are proud to be associated with this marathon which intends to connect with everyone living in and outside of Amaravati city. It is an outstanding platform for us to showcase our brand commitment towards running, health and well-being in general, which is personification of our brand name Jio that not only represents technology, but a philosophy of empowerment which embraces Indians and gives them a new way to live a Digital Life.”

Winners of the Marathon were presented with medals, cash prizes and a special award from Reliance Jio in the form of a Jio Money digital wallet.

DEEP (Disease Eradication through Education and Prevention) is a trust which has been active in fostering primary level healthcare. The marathon was powered by Greenko, while other sponsors include Talwalkars, AP Police, Ramesh Hospitals, Prayoj, Gerdau, Vector, and Ocimum.

The second edition of the marathon was flagged off from the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium, Amaravati.
