On the purpose of the event, Vidya Laxman, Technical Director, Tesco said, “Last month, we concluded the second edition of Tesco Technology Day. Revolving around the theme, IGNITE, the primary purpose of this unparalleled initiative is to focus on ideas and innovations and to gear up all the members of Tesco Technology to transform the future of retail."
Distinct Communications managed this event, and was responsible for end to end execution, beginning with the communication campaign, event conceptualization, conference content, stage design, event show flow, show direction, individual speakers’ video-profile introduction, screening of all the start-up stalls to set-up their respective booths at the pre-event.
Talking about the role Distinct Communications played in making this event a success, Laxman added, “The success of this event is owed not only to our in-house TESCO team, but also to our event management team, Distinct Communications. While DC came up with the idea of introducing 'experience zones,' where employees were exposed to new trends in Retail Technology, our team at TESCO partnered with our suppliers and made it happen. DC also played a crucial part in orchestrating the start-up fair, setting up a remarkable stage, engaging industry stalwarts as keynote speakers and finalising topics for our panel discussions. The planning, content and execution of this event is owed to the remarkable teamwork showcased by DC and TESCO. Through combined efforts of our TESCO team, outstanding event planning team of DC and reliable suppliers, this event turned heads across the country, with a reach of 1,039, 518 and 1, 442, 854 impressions on Twitter. We appreciate their unstinting efforts whole-heartedly.”
The planning phase was around 3 months long. This included making the initial pitch, producing all content and managing pre-event communication, planning the stage design and event layout, and the most crucial aspect of finalizing the content and aesthetics of the Curtain Raiser video, which was a huge success, much appreciated by Tesco HQ

Sharath Bellave, Creative Head, Distinct Communications remarked, “We have been associated with Tesco for the last 6 years and have had the opportunity to partner with them for some of their turn key projects. Tech Day 2016 was another feather in the cap for Distinct considering the complexity and the expectation that was set, the task on hand wasn't easy. The organising team at Tesco under the leadership of Ms.Vidya Laxman were a great team to work with. In my opinion this event is the best example of the outcome when creative minds come together. The reach and heads turned by this event is a testimonial of its success.”
