Zee Celebrates Asha Bhosle’s 83rd Birthday with ‘Timeless Asha’ Concert in Mumbai

Asha Bhosle, the undisputed queen of Bollywood playback singing, with an enriched experience of over six decades, celebrated her grand 83rd birthday with Zee Classic’s ‘Timeless Asha’ Concert on Sept 8, 2016. Co-powered by Cadbury Dairy Milk Marvellous Creations and Lux, the evening hosted at Mumbai’s Bhaidas Hall saw Bollywood’s who’s-who in attendance to celebrate the legendary singer and her illustrious career.

The event produced by Mahesh Tilekar, was hosted by the singer-actor Ayushmann Khurrana. On the occasion, Asha was felicitated with a special Mana Cha Murja. The evening saw spectacular performances by Urmila Matondkar, Radhika Apte, Terrence Lewis, Bhumi Pednekar, Lauren Gottlieb, Mahi Gil, Raghav, Mukti and Shakti Mohan. Singers Monali Thakur and Antara Mitra also paid homage to Asha in the presence of Hindi cinema’s timeless stars like Dimple Kapadia, Zeenat Aman, Kumar Sanu, Shaan and Mika Singh.

Expressing her delight at being felicitated with the grand concert, Asha commented; “I have always celebrated my birthday with my family and close friends. And I am deeply honored that Zee Classic has decided to host this special concert to celebrate my 83rd birthday. Watching the young singers of today perform on my songs in the presence of all my well wishers in the industry was indeed a very humbling experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and the highlight was the song where all the actresses I sang for came on stage after so many years.”
