#Paani is a series of fundraisers organized for the victims of Maharashtra drought by Pyaas.org in association with Big Bad Wolf and antiSocial on June 2 in Delhi and June 9 in Mumbai, respectively. The effort aims to spread a word and raise funds for the major water-crisis that people of Maharashtra are battling at present.
On conceptualizing #Paani, Sameer Thakur, Founder, pyaas.org said, “Very honestly, I am doing this because I feel terrible Guilt, because I didn’t know about the drought earlier, guilt because I live happily while 12 year olds are dying of heat strokes. This led me to tell myself very clearly that I needed to do something, so we got a group of people together; and tried to whatever we could, while continuously realizing that whatever we do will not be enough.”
Big Bad Wolf, the artist management company, partnered with #Paani in terms of artists’ line up in both the cities. Sanjay Rajoura, Karan Singh Magic, Komorebi, Soul’d Out, Dhruv Visvanath, Pratyush Pushkar, Aditi Angrias, Aditya Balani are performing in Delhi. While, the Mumbai leg will see performances by Ankur Tewari, Sid Coutto and Tejas Menon, among others.
Dhruv Jagasia, CEO, Big Bad Wolf added, "#Paani is a thoughtful concept brought to life by Sameer Thakur, who interned with us in the past. Sameer and his colleagues have been working with a very noble endeavor called Pyaas, where they 'believe that, everyone who is capable of providing help to someone in need is obligated to provide that help.' #Paani is one of their campaigns to provide help and support to the people affected by the drought in Maharashtra, when he spoke to us about #Paani, his conviction inspired us to do what we can in our little way."
As stated in the company’s official statement, all money raised will be donated to Give India, which in turn will match total contribution, therefore doubling the total funds collected.

A set of fundraising events will be held on June 2 in Delhi and June 9 in Mumbai.
