The International Advertising Association's (IAA) India chapter, for the fourth consecutive year, honoured the achievements of various leaders in the marketing, advertising and media community, for their pathbreaking performance, innovation and creativity in delivering high impact marketing initiatives. Held at Mumbai’s Grand Hyatt on March 12, 2016, the 2016 edition of IAA Leadership Awards brought together corporate leaders, creative minds, and was presided by Chief Guest, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju.
Having successfully managed VH1 Wolfmother 2014, Viacom 18 Change Leader’s Conference 2013 and VH1 Switchfoot amongst other events in the past, Dentsu Aegis’ experiential marketing agency, Fountainhead MKTG partnered again with Viacom 18 to conceptualise and execute this glorious awards ceremony. Viacom18's Hindi general entertainment channel COLORS was the lead sponsor for the IAA Leadership Awards. Fountainhead was responsible for an end-to-end planning and execution of the event, right from the stage of conceptualisation to designing the entire communication, set designs to technical setup, registration and assisting guests to venue, artist management, entertainment and production.

Fountainhead created an experience right from the entrance as the guests were welcomed on a walkway of paparazzi photographers giving them that a feel of starry night. The glittering awards ceremony kicked off with an interactive AV and the Emcee Kubra Sait setting the context for the evening. Each award category was introduced with a specific stinger that had a differentiating and relatable element of that category. The award stingers were custom made by the very renowned Amarsen Hand shadowgraphy troupe. Awards were interspersed with a surprise performance by the A capella group Raaga Trippin who brought the house down by giving a tribute to the nation with a medley of patriotic songs.
The event was followed by a star-studded glitzy party which saw the coming together of numerous Bollywood and TV celebrities to celebrate COLORS' eight successful years of entertainment.
The IAA Awards had a bold and powerful design language that made a statement. Fountainhead used edgy, faceted designs in monochrome, enhanced by lights and LED, to create a commanding message of intent. This was complemented by the use of reflective surfaces that absorbed and reflected the inherent performance of all the attendees and made them a part of the visual appeal. The entire post party set up had in-lit elements all across the venue, right from in-lit bars, furniture and even the dance floor.

Some of the winners from the evening were Kumar Mangalam Birla, who was awarded the CEO of the year, Rajat Sharma won the Best News Anchor award, Josy Paul won the Creative Agency Head of the year and Ashish Bhasin, the Media Agency Head of the year. The exclusive event attended by the who's who of advertising, media and marketing world, also awarded actor Varun Dhawan as the Brand Ambassador of the year.
