Disney Announces Beauty and the Beast Season II For May-Jun 2016

Disney India’s Beauty and the Beast musical is all set to make a comeback with Season II, this summer. The timeless classic was brought to the Indian stage for the first time ever in 2015 and was completely developed locally in India, while retaining the original script and memorable music of the Broadway show. Over 100 of the best musical theatre performers in India brought the story alive on stage, with world class production values, lavish sets and gorgeous costumes.

In Mumbai, it was performed at Dome@NSCI, SVP Stadium, while in Delhi it was held at Thyagaraj Sports Complex; each of which could accommodate about 2500 people for each show. The show promised to be the most immersive Broadway scale show where a select set of audience got the opportunity to be a part of all the action and experience the magic from 360 degrees (on swivel chairs).

With the response received for Season I, Disney is now bringing Season II to Mumbai and Delhi, by popular demand the musical generated in both the markets.

The Beauty and the Beast Musical has many firsts to its credit -   Pioneered a new genre of entertainment in the country; Produced locally at a scale and grandeur bigger than the original show( globally, in most of the markets Beauty and the Beast is a traveling show); More than 100 local performers, making it the biggest production of Beauty and the Beast globally (On an average a musical show on Broadway or the West End has not more than 30-40 artists on stage); Immersive experience for the audience with swivel chairs to enjoy a 360 degree view; Staged at a stadium, rather than a conventional auditorium; and Advanced technology through luminous stage and sets were used with LED panels.

The second season of the well-received musical will be held at Mumbai on May 2016 and Delhi on June 2016, with the venues retained from last season (Dome @ NSCI in Mumbai and Thyagraj Sports Complex in Delhi). Bookings are now open on BookMyShow.com.
