Rings & Roses to Organise “World Women’s Day” Event in Bangalore

Wedding planning company Rings and Roses is organising a “World Women’s Day” event at Bungalow 7, in Richards Town, Bangalore on March 8. Around 100-150 people are expected at the event where women from different communities and walks of life will share their success stories. In addition, stalls which will be put up free of cost for women entrepreneurs. The plan is to give women a platform for their business ideas, and an opportunity to explore and showcase their talent. Further, a group of transgenders will be present, a few of who will talk to the audience about their stories. Margaret Alva, erstwhile Governor of Rajasthan and Gujarat and former Union Minister will preside at the event.

NGOs participating with the event are Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Karnataka (AWAKE), Sangama, Parivarthana and Vimochana.

The setup at the event will be executed around the venue, Bungalow 7, a colonial bungalow, restored and turned into an exclusive, sought after event space. Maintained and run by Rings & Roses Wedding Planners, it is well suited for painting exhibitions, book launches, and intimate family celebrations like wedding anniversaries, and pre and post wedding functions.

The event will take place from noon to 4 in the evening and will include a lunch buffet. Stalls will display and sell food, clothing, technology, and other ideas and innovations.

On what the event seeks to achieve, Rosemary Ratnam, Owner, Rings and Roses said, “We would like to applaud and praise women who struggle to keep their families going with no other opportunity but from their ingenuity and skill.  We will applaud women who have broken free from stereotypes to share their struggles and their success stories. The event will also celebrate the Supreme Court Judgement recognising the third gender.”

In addition to inviting successful women from different walks of life to share their stories, the event will also feature stalls showcasing products, services and innovations by women entrepreneurs.
