Sound.com has conceptualized and will go on to host the first edition of an exclusive festival for synthesizers called SynthFest. The two-day festival scheduled to take place on Sept. 26 and 27, will be held at the SOUND.COM headquarters in Andheri, Mumbai. The interactive festival attempts to provide attendees an access to some of the best synths in the world, letting them play a rare selection of instruments. The festival will also feature workshops and performances by artists like Sandunes, Fuzzy Logic, Paraphoniks and Aqua Dominatrix.
The idea for this festival was conceived by Warren D’Souza, Founder & Managing Director of Sound.com, who is also involved in developing various music IPs, including the Gearhouse Sessions. He commented, “The idea of a festival exclusively for synthesizers is a result of my passion for these amazing instruments and their unique sounds. They have been an integral part of my musical learning and journey as an audio professional. I believe this festival will provide an excellent platform for us to present an array of iconic synths from brands like Roland, Nord, Korg, Waldorfs, ARP Odyssey and generations of Moog, thus offering a nostalgic sonic experience to musicians and gear enthusiasts alike.”
The instruments for the festival will be sourced from the rental store owned by SOUND.COM, which will also provide the technical support required at the festival. SynthFest will be curated by musician Akshay Rajpurohit aka Aqua Dominatrix, along with composer and film-maker Shadaab Kadri.
