EEMA Online Licensing
The Delhi Government implemented online clearance for non-ticketed events for the first time on Sept. 4, when three events received clearance. The Online Licensing Process has been introduced following the efforts of the Event & Entertainment Management Association to liaise with the Delhi government for more event-friendly policies. While online clearance has been put in place for non-ticketed events in Delhi, it will take around a month for the same to be implemented for ticketed events. Following this development, EEMA expects Maharashtra and other states to follow suit soon.
Thanking key persons in the industry who helped bring about this development, Sabbas Joseph, President, EEMA and Founder Director, Wizcraft International Entertainment said, “On behalf of everyone across the events industry, I’d like to thank Rajeev Jain, Treasurer, EEMA for leading the day-to-day discussions with the Delhi administration and driving this to a positive conclusion in the shortest possible time. Also, a special thanks to Vijay Nair, who helped us kick-start this entire effort.”
This is only one of the recent initiatives the Delhi government has undertaken to make the city event-friendly. In addition to making it possible for events to get single window clearance, the government has also recently announced a list of licensed auditoriums. Further, EEMA members now have the option of paying entertainment tax for ticketed events after the event.
