The V Shantaram Awards ceremony was held at Intercontinental, The Grand on November 18, 2007. RajKamal Entertainment Company organized the award ceremony. The awards ceremony seriously followed its tagline of Uniting India cinematically, with cinema from across the countrybeing honoured. Malayalam actress Meera Jasmine won the best actress award for the film Ore Kadal, Chak de India stole the show with Shah Rukh Khan bagging the Best Actor award, Shimit Amin winning Best Director Silver and the Editing award while also winning the Best Film Gold award. The awards for Best Music, Best Director, and Cinematography were bagged by Mani Ratnam's Guru. Yash Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan were spotted at the event. The other winners were Lage Raho Munnabhai for Best Story and Screenplay andArshad Warsi won the Best Supporting Actor award for the same film.
